emma rose mcdevitt
[mc]feilin is a comprehensive digital archive of the personal, academic, and professional design works developed by Emma Rose McDevitt.
The title, [mc]feilin, comes from the surnames passed down to her-- including the ones that were left behind.
Prior to immigrating to the USA from Japan, her mother carried the name Fengfei Lin. Upon arrival, it was legally changed to Jennifer McDevitt, a name adopted to be accepted within american society.
[mc]feilin is a declaration of origin: an acknowledgement of both her paternal and maternal ancestries, adaptations, and sacrifices that have allowed her to participate in the world of design today.
